Recognizing that a rapid diagnosis is key to decreasing rates of mortality, Bar-Ilan spearheaded a successful campaign in the first weeks of the war to purchase more than 200 point-of-care ultrasound devices (POCUS) for distribution to combat medics. At a cost of $4,000 each, POCUS devices enable the accurate diagnosis and treatment of injuries at the front lines, and help determine the process for evacuation and prioritization by subsequent teams. In addition to the devices\u2019 distribution, Azrieli Faculty of Medicine doctors and graduate students trained IDF combat medics in the use of this life-saving tool.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
